I’m a floor addict, My floor is the main topic on my cleaning schedule. Shoes are prohibited from wearing in my house that’s why my floor has to be immaculate at all times.

 

 

In this article, we will be cleaning 10 types of floor. Don’t WORRY cleaning your floor is pretty easy as ABC. It really doesn’t require a scientist to do it. Let’s take a stroll and see what we find.

 

 

1.VINYL FLOORING most popular

Vinyl comes in two forms of TILES and SHEETS. It is an awesome floor to have and to care for. These floors are water and stain resistant which makes it easy to clean.

 

 

To clean your vinyl floor, using a bucket simply combine 1 cup cider vinegar with 2 gallons of warm water. Use this solution to wipe the floor using a mop. Ensure the mop is clean at all times by periodically rinsing it in the bucket.

 

 

2.MARBLE FLOORs ARE glamorous

If your floor is made from marble that means it is easily scratched, prone to cracks, and gloriously beautiful and expensive. You want to be very careful what you use to clean if you want to keep it damage-free and looking at its best.

 

 

3.HARDWOOD FLOOR as rustic as they come

The rustic feel that a hardwood floor gives to your home is just majestic. However harsh chemicals can cause it to lose its touch. For your hardwood floor to maintain its majestic appearance here is how to clean it.

 

 

The best way to care for your hardwood floor is to avoid harsh chemicals especially vinegar. Stay away from soaps too. These will ruin your floor appearance overtime.

 

 

Waxing works but only if allowed to dry and then shine using a soft towel or dry mop. Steam cleaners release excessive water which can cause cupping of your hardwood floor.

 

 

To care for this type of floor. Simply wipe with a damp mop. You can also cover the walking area with a rug. This will not only keep the floor clean but will protect it from scrapes and scratches.

 

 

4.LAMINATE FLOOR fake beautiful

Your floor can imitate many different types of floors that’s why it is called a laminate floor. However, because it is not 100% natural cleaning methods are not all together restricted. Let us see what we find that is great for cleaning this beautiful floor.

 

 

STEP 1– Combine 1/2 cup Pine-Sol to 2 gallons of warm water.

STEP 2-Using a clean mop, wipe the floor with the mixture. Wring the mop until it’s almost dry before wiping to avoid the floor from becoming too wet which can cause ugly looking streaks. Repeat the process if the floor is drowning in the dirt.

 

 

5.TILE FLOORING ARE MAGNIFICENT

Tiles are easy to clean but there’s a trick to cleaning and preserving them. Not cleaning your tile the correct way can leave it looking faded and smoggy. They can get really sticky too. Here’s how to clean your tiles.

 

 

To clean these beauties all you need is water a bucket and a mop. To keep your tiles glowing clean it as often as necessary. The grout is where the problem lies. Use a solution of 1/4 cup liquid bleach and 1/2 cup baking soda.

 

 

Combine into a paste and use a toothbrush to plaster it on the grout. Let this remain for 1 hour. Using the same toothbrush, scrub the grout to remove the gunk. When you are through, use a wet mop to clean the floor.

 

 

6.CARPET FLOORING COZY FEELING

The most common issues with having carpet flooring are stains and odor. One good advice is to try to keep your carpet dry. If this should happen get it dried as fast as you can.

 

 

Not doing so can cause a moldy smell in your home. Do so by lifting the carpet (wet area) then clean the floor with vinegar and water. Allow to dry, replace the carpet, and use a blow dryer to dry the area.

 

 

To remove stains combine 1 tbsp baking soda, 1/4 cup distilled vinegar 2 tbsp hydrogen peroxide. Pour into a spray bottle and mist the stain.

 

Allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Wipe with a damp cloth for 2 minutes. The stain should no longer be visible. Repeat the process if necessary. To remove odor do a regular sprinkle of baking soda on your carpet.

 

 

7.BAMBOO floor is the way to go

I just love bamboo. This is an awesome floor, new to the market, and eco-friendly not to mention how beautiful it is. Because it is new on the market not much is known about its domestic care. Doing my research I contacted someone who owns a bamboo house in the Caribbean.

 

 

Also, I have a bamboo dresser that always has its own glow, I guess that’s from the varnish. Let’s see how to clean a bamboo floor the right way.

 

 

Add to a bucket a gallon of water (warm) toss in  1 cork full of Murphy’s Oil Soap. Use a clean mop along with the mixture to wipe the floor. Avoid the floor getting too wet. It turns out that all your bamboo floor need is a little TLC

 

8. HOW TO CLEAN CORK FLOOR

It’s as natural as it gets. This floor is made from trees. Its Origins are from Spain and Portugal. To clean this floor should be easy as it absorbs stains quickly. If your floor is CORK then you shouldn’t have a problem keeping it up.

 

 

To clean this type of floor, sweep the floor then add a dab of mild detergent to a bucket of warm water. If you prefer to use another mild chemical that’s okay. Use a soft cloth or mop to wipe the floor. To dry use another clean dry cloth and allow the air to do the rest.

 

9. Make your LINOLEUM glow

To clean your linoleum is a charm. If all floor types were this easy to be cleaned then we wouldn’t have to be going through this article.

 

 

All you need to clean your linoleum floor is a bucket, a mop, and water. Wring the mop and proceed to clean your floor. My top advice for cleaning floors is to aways wipe twice.

 

 

The second wipe is the one that will close the deal by removing any dirt the first wipe left behind. Always use a clean mop or cloth to wipe.

 

10.RUBBER floors are easy to care for

Rubber floors are easy to care for too. All you need to do is to keep it away from harsh chemicals. These can cause erosion that’s definitely something you want to avoid. Here is a simple way to clean your rubber floor.

 

 

Fill a container with water add a dab of dish soap. Use a non- abrasive scrubber to clean the floor. Vacuuming will help to remove dirt and other particles. Be very moderate with the amount of water when you clean. Do this once monthly.

 

 

To clean with a wet vac. Mop the floor for 5 minutes. Go over the floor with the wet vac. Remember to use a mild detergent in your vac when cleaning your rubber floor. This is wonderful!

STEP 1. CLEANING THE BOWL

STEP 3. GETTING STARTED

Pour 1/4 cup baking soda along with 1/2 cup Industrial vinegar and a touch of Dawn dish soap in the bowl. Swish it around with a toilet brush, scrubbing vigorously.

 

TIP: INDUSTRIAL VINEGAR is recommended for cleaning purposes only. It is great for removing stains, and disgusting odors and is highly recommended for bathroom cleaning.

 

 

HIDDEN AREAS

Getting to the bottom area of the seat can be a bit tricky 😬. Here you will find black gunk that has been building up for months.

 

This is easily over-looked when cleaning a toilet and could cause bad odors. Reach up with the brush and get into those corners.

 

 

THE GUNK

Don’t stop until you see those black gunk releasing. If this doesn’t work for you. Roll up a strip of paper towel, Sprinkle drops of vinegar on it.

 

Use your fingers to stuff it into the hidden area of the interior of the bowl. Let it remain until your second visit to the bowl. This method is to break away the stubborn gunk.

 

 

STEP 4. THE OUTER AREAS

I just hate to see the back area of my toilet seat. This area seems to catch all manner of things that do not belong there. You will find some disgusting things like hair, urine splashed and dust, these are a big turn off when using the toilet. Dust this area before cleaning.

 

Using an MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER, scrub this area with Dawn dish soap and bleach. Add 1 tsp of household bleach to 2 cups of water in a spray bottle to this add a dab of Dawn dish soap, shake well to combine. Mist and wipe slowly moving downwards to the rim.

 

 The rim is the lower area of the toilet that’s screwed onto the floor. Here can get really messy so pay close attention to the corners. Clean this area with the same procedure as you did the back area of the seat.

 

When you are done, mist with RUBBING ALCOHOL then uses a clean wet rag to wipe the entire outer area of the toilet. this will remove the cleaning solution along with all the bacteria.

 

 

STEP 5. GO BACK TO THE BOWL

By now the solution that was left inside should have removed any stain and is ready to be flushed. Before flushing remove the paper towel from that hidden area.

 

 

STEP 6. DEODORIZING

Pouring sweet smelling fragrances in your bowl will work wonders for your toilet. This is where you can choose any of the above fragrances to make your toilet bloom.

The peek hole on the door may sound a little weird but just imagine how often your eyes and other members of your 🏠 hold peek through that peek hole every day, eww!! A little rubbing alcohol on a ball of cotton will set this peek hole straight. It will eliminate any germ that might be there.

 

 

3.HOW ABOUT YOUR KEYS

Your keys are bacteria carriers. I am sure you are not surprised to hear this. However, we seem to never get around to sanitize them. Simply mist with rubbing alcohol or Lysol every morning and if possible throughout the day.

 

 

4. AC MONITORS, ARE THEY CLEAN?

Don’t forget to clean this. It’s the most forgotten item. No one could ever really think of cleaning the AC unit monitor but it does need cleaning.

Even though it’s just a toilet brush your hands touch the handle just after you use the toilet so cleaning it would be a wise idea. Cleaning your toilet brush is quite easy here is how.

 

Simply pour rubbing alcohol or diluted bleach in a spray bottle and mist it ever so often. Keep the spray bottle close by so you can always remember to mist it.

 

 

7.WHAT’S ON YOUR PHONE SCREEN

Believe it or not, your mobile device screen is dirty! Just consider how often you touch it in one day. Then consider all the places you place it down and all the places you went to.

 

Simply put, your mobile devices go everywhere with you. Bacteria can linger on your devices screen causing acne problems and other issues.

 

To Clean, damp a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and clean the surface. If it’s possible, remove the PHONES SCREEN PROTECTOR so you can clean there too.

Many stove that has grates and burners though a bit outdated still exists in most homes. Over time they can become scorched from flames and cloaked with baked-on food. If your burners fit this description then there is good news for you. Here is how to make your burners brand new again.

 

 

HOMEMADE STOVE CLEANING SOLUTION RECIPE

First, make a scrub using 1 cup BORAX, 1/4 cup INDUSTRIAL VINEGAR, 2 tbsp DAWN DISH SOAP. Combine all ingredients in a container. Use your finger to bring it to scrub like texture.

 

SOAKING THE GRILLS

Cover the grates with the scrub. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Using  MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER, scrub the grates vigorously.

 

Place the grates in a sink filled with warm water. To that add, a few drops of INDUSTRIAL VINEGAR. Allow soaking for another 10 minutes.

 

At this point, use a scotch Brite to scrub the grates or stiff toothbrush to get into the corners. Rinse and allow to drip dry.

 

 

REVIVING THE BURNERS

Remove the burner from the stove. Cover them with your homemade scrubbing solution. place them in a small pan or you can use the sink.

 

Pour 1/2 cup of industrial vinegar over the burners. Allow soaking for 5-10 minutes. Put some muscle into it and scrub until it starts showing a clean silvery surface. Rinse with warm water and dry with a clean rag.

 

EXTRA TIP

Before replacing the grates and burners. Clean the stovetop using the remainder of your homemade solution. Follow the same scrubbing process.

 

When you are through scrubbing, wipe away the residue with a damp cleaning rag. Replace your burners and grates and your stove is good to go again.

Use a rag to scrub gently to remove the paint. For colored clothes, dilute 2 tbsp in 1/2 cup warm water. Mix well and lather the area continue by rubbing the area with a cloth until the stain is gone. Toss in a regular cycle and wash.

 

 

3. REMOVE GREASE BUILT-UP FROM STOVETOP

An easy way to solve this uneasy problem is to use GSSR to completely eradicate all that grease build-up you just can’t seem to get rid of.

 

Turn your stove on and put it on warm. Having the stove on warm will loosen the tough residues making the solution easier to penetrate.

Now for the solution, combine Dawn dish soap and GSSR in a small bowl, mix well. Turn off the stove, ensure it is not overheated, now use a sponge with your solution to lather the area.

SURFACE WASHING? HMM, NOT GOOD

However, sometimes we tend to rush clean our blender without cleaning it the proper way. This can make your blender carry a gunky odor and very soon green sediments will start to grow in the hidden areas.

 

This can be bad for your health!!!  I am almost certain that no one wants to drink a cup full of gunk so let’s get your blender clean.

 

SEPARATE

The first step is to separate the top from the bottom which is the electrical section. Pull out the lid, that’s the cover, Now on the lid, there is another smaller lid in the center. Use your thumb to push this out away from you.

 

 

REMOVING SMALL PARTS

The second step is removing the rim. The rim is the other end of that entire area. Here is very important when cleaning your blender, as this is where all the hidden food is stored. Twist this area off and carefully remove the blades.

While doing this you will see a little rubber circle, put his away carefully.

 

WASHING

Use warm water and your favorite dish soap to wash all the separated area. Use a toothbrush to get to the hard to reach areas.

Rinse also with warm water and place on a kitchen towel to drain. DO NOT DRY WITH PAPER TOWEL. Drying with a paper towel may leave behind small pieces that may find their way shake in your the next time you blend.

 

THE ELECTRICAL AREA

This area should not be washed with water at any time at all if you are plan on having your blender to use the next day. Washing this area will completely total your blender, so here is how to clean this area.

Using a clean cloth. Get it wet then ring it almost dry, dab a little dish soap on to it and gently wipe in strokes.

 

USE A TOOTHBRUSH FOR HARD TO REACH AREAS

Use the same toothbrush to the area, which is right here. The toothbrush will remove any stuck-on food particles. Rinse the kitchen towel and give it another wipe this time try to remove all the soap.

 

Don’t forget the cord, wipe the cord to give it its finishing touch.

PUTTING BACK YOUR BLENDER TOGETHER

STEP ONE…This not complicated if you do it in reverse. Step one, replace the rubber circle. To do this the blender should be upside down.

STEP THREE…Turn over and replace that centerpiece back into the center of the lid. Now, carefully place backs the entire blender together.
