HOW TO WASH A MICROFIBER RAG
I’ve been listening to readers complained of having lint and other things such as hair left behind on their microfiber rags even after washing. This can be very frustrating, but there’s a way to prevent this.
These tips I’ll share with you will not only tell you how to wash and disinfect your microfiber rags but will tell you the trick of how to remove any particle that may stick after washing.
STEPS BEFORE WASHING
Before tossing microfiber rags in the washer there are a thing or two you should do first. REMOVING PARTICLES...microfiber is a material that allows things to stick. That’s the reason they are so great for cleaning.
However, because it’s so good at grabbing and holding particles things such as hair and other tiny objects seem to embed themselves easily.
ALLOW DRYING BEFORE WASHING
If the microfiber cloth is wet it should never be washed right away. This will encourage the particles to stick even more. Even after washing, the particles will still be there. Then, the rag will look as it was never washed.
DRY AND SHAKE
To dry the rags lay them in the open air overnight. In the morning separate and shake the rags. This will remove the sticking hair and anything else that might be sticking around.
PRESOAK…For cloth that is stained and extremely dirty presoaking will get it ready for washing. If you look closely we are trying to separate the rags.
If you toss the extremely dirty rags in the washer with the not so dirty ones the dirt will cross making the semi-clean ones look just as discoloured as the others.
HOW TO SOAK MICROFIBER CLOTHS
Fill a bucket with warm water, Pour in 1/4 cup white vinegar, Allow sitting for 1/2 hour, remove the rags and toss into the washer. At this point, you can combine all the rags together.
Use a regular laundry detergent and a mild fabric softener and your microfiber rags will be clean, lint-free and ready for dusting and wiping again.
