My new apartment is fully carpeted. I was so excited to see how clean and spotless it was and I wanted to keep it that way. Nothing looks more disgusting than a carpet that is covered in spots.
The main trick about carpet care is to [NEVER GET IT WET] My biggest concern is, my carpet almost spreads straight into my kitchen.
I have kids so that bothered me a lot. Kids spill and they leave food droppings on the floor so too your pets. This can leave really ugly stains and on top of that a nasty smell.
After months of living in my new apartment, my carpet is still spotless. In this article, I will let you in on how I manage to keep my carpet looking new and stain free.
To get started you will need baking soda, dish soap, water Hydrogen Peroxide, and a spray bottle. If using on a dark-colored carpet, then a 1/4 cup of warm water is needed for this solution.
These ingredients contain bleaching agents, so you may want to do a sample test on a small area of the carpet before tackling the stain.
Combine 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 cup warm water, 1/4 cup Hydrogen Peroxide, and a drop of dish soap. Mix well and pour into a spray bottle. Spray on the stained area and let it sit for 30 minutes.
Using a sponge or small rag, rub the area for 1- 2 minutes. Wipe with a damp sponge. The sponge will absorb the excess moisture, leaving the area semi-dry. Avoid walking on the treated area before it’s completely dried.
STORING YOUR SOLUTION. The good thing about this one-step solution, it can be stored for a month before losing its strength.
Ensure to place a label with the name of the solution. Sealed tightly and keep in a safe place. Just in case a stain should pop up out of nowhere or maybe and a messy accident caused it to be stained.
You can always reach for your solution to help you mend the problem. BONUS TIP… Your carpet stain remover is perfect for cleaning bathroom and kitchen surfaces, It will remove stubborn stains leaving them looking super clean.
